Has Your Passport Expired?

Has Your Passport Expired?

Time to Check Your Passport Expiry Date

With most of the travel rules regarding Covid testing, and restrictions being relaxed in the UK, many people are starting to feel confident enough to make travel plans.  However, after such a long time without that being possible, your passport may have expired whilst it was languishing at the back of the drawer.

It’s so easy to overlook this – especially as the rules have now changed and your passport now expires ten years from the issue date rather than having the additional 6 months to the expiry date as it did in the pre-Brexit world.  It would be a shame to miss out on your long hoped for holiday plans over something as simple and avoidable as a passport expiry.

Most passport applications now take place online and this is being encouraged by the Passport Office as the fast, cheapest, and most efficient way to update your passport.  One of the easiest ways that you can make your application sail through the process with no problems is to take extra care when it comes to your passport photography.

Over 280 different passport and visa types for more than 90 countries
At VisualChaos Studios, all our passport photos go through software that checks them against the biometric requirements of the country in question so you are guaranteed that there will be no hold-ups on account of your images when it comes to receiving your passport back.

Our passport software database can check for over 280 different passport and visa types for more than 90 countries so wherever you’re looking to visit, we have you covered.  Also, if you discover that you have more than one passport or visa that needs updating, we can accommodate family groups at a single easy session.

You can book your passport photo appointment directly into our online calendar making it easy to find a date and time that suits you, and you’ll also pay online at the same time. You’ll receive your Passport Image Code immediately after your photo is taken along with any printed photos (if you have requested them) so by the time you get home, you’ll have everything you need to get your application prepared and sent off.  It’s as simple as that!

Forest Canopy Survey Using Photogrammetry Techniques

Caterham School Photogrammetry of Forest Trees - Surveying for Chalara Fraxinea – Ash Dieback Last year, we were asked by Caterham School to survey and map their school forest known as Old Parks Wood. Ash trees within the wood were suffering from Chalara Fraxinea (Ash Dieback) a disease which has the potential to kill off 80% of the ash trees in the 45-acre wood and once dead, would quickly become dangerous to wildlife and other users of the woods, including the school pupils. The mission was to map the forest canopy by drone using photogrammetry survey techniques so that the school could get a full understanding of the degree of diseased trees that were present, and then subsequently put in place a management plan in conjunction with the Forestry Commission, Natural England and the local council. Project Background In 2014 the school had bought approximately 140 acres of Old Park Wood – partly to protect it from the threat of development but also to secure its long-term future as a bi...

Hidden Issues with Thermal Imaging During Building Surveys

Beyond the Surface: Discovering Hidden Issues with Thermal Imaging during Building Surveys Building surveys have evolved significantly, thanks to advancements in thermal imaging technology and the transformative impact of thermal imaging during building surveys, uncovering concealed issues that traditional methods might overlook. The Power of Thermal Imaging Thermal imaging enables a deeper understanding of a building’s thermal performance. By capturing infrared radiation, these cameras reveal temperature variations that are invisible to the naked eye. This non-destructive technique is particularly valuable for identifying hidden issues affecting a building’s efficiency and structural integrity. Harnessing thermal imaging technology during surveys provides a comprehensive overview of a building’s insulation, HVAC systems, and potential air leaks. This proactive approach goes beyond the surface, allowing for precise problem detection before they escalate. Unearthing Insulation Deficie...
