Amazon Store Photography Standards

What are the photography considerations when selling your products on Amazon?

For a long time, Amazon has been one of the UK’s most popular destinations for online shopping. There’s almost nothing that you can’t buy on there and the addition of Prime means that members can receive their items faster direct to their door.  It’s a trend that shows no signs of slowing with the consumer love for online shopping growing month on month.  It’s fair to say that it’s hard to beat the type of price competitiveness and fast delivery that Amazon have to offer.

Therefore, developing a store to allow you to sell your products on Amazon is a popular addition to the portfolio of many online retailers but it’s hard to be successful in such a busy marketplace.  The first thing that a potential customer will see of the products that your business has to offer is the photographs (Amazon allow you up to seven photographs per listing). This means that one of the keys to standing out from the crowd is the quality of your images – eye catching, super high-quality images will showcase your product’s features, increase your search ranking and give your listing the highest chance of being converted to a sale.

Despite being a place where so many different sellers can congregate, Amazon have a standard to maintain when it comes to the unique look of their product photography and the appearance of their website. This means that they have a strict set of requirements when it comes to the type of photographs that they will accept with listings.  Format, file size and the background colour are all key to getting your listing accepted.  We’re very familiar with the Amazon set of requirements, which you can read below in their entirety.

AMAZON PHOTOGRAPHY SPECIFICATION
They recommend that photographs be “professionally lit and photographed or scanned, with realistic colour, and smooth edges.” That can certainly be very difficult to achieve at home even using purpose bought light boxes and the difference between home and professional photographs will nearly always be noticeable.

At our studio, we have invested thousands into the equipment that we use to capture images, not to mention the training that we have in making sure that your image meets the guidelines but still shows the features and quality of your product.

Our photographs will always have the best possible clarity, focus, resolution as well as natural colours and reflections with a pleasing and professional feel. We further enhance this with our editing process to create finished images that have razor sharp edges and are completely blemish free.

SMALL OWNER MANAGED BUSINESS PHOTOGRAPHY
Our business is based around offering support to all businesses, including those that that are smaller, owner managed enterprises.  There’s no job that is too large or small for us to take on and the service is probably more affordable than you would think.

We have experience in shooting all types of products from clothing to bottles, from jewellery to fashion, from accessories to hand sanitiser – there really aren’t any limits on what we can capture for you.  We can also work to your deadlines to ensure that your products are ready for market in the shortest possible time – professional commercial photography that meets your needs is both possible, fast and affordable with us. Just get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Introduction to Building Thermography: Detecting Non-Visible Defects

Understanding Building Thermography: An Introduction to Detecting Non-Visible Defects Building thermography is a powerful tool used in the field of construction and maintenance to identify non-visible defects in structures. It involves the use of thermal imaging cameras to capture and analyse the heat patterns emitted by buildings. By detecting variations in temperature, building thermography can reveal hidden issues that are not visible to the naked eye. This technology has revolutionised the way we inspect and maintain buildings, allowing for early detection of problems and preventing costly repairs. The Science Behind Building Thermography: How it Helps Identify Non-Visible Defects Building thermography is based on the principle that all objects emit infrared radiation, which is invisible to the human eye. Thermal imaging cameras detect this radiation and convert it into a visible image, where different colors represent different temperatures. By analysing these images, qualified th...

Thermal Bridging in Commercial Buildings

Unveiling the Hidden Costs: Thermal Bridging in Commercial Buildings In the intricate world of commercial building design and construction, one often-overlooked factor plays a crucial role in energy efficiency – thermal bridging. This phenomenon, where heat easily transfers through the fabric of a building, not only impacts the comfort of its occupants but also significantly increases operational costs. The effects of thermal bridging on heat loss and its financial implications for commercial buildings, can be assessed by the itilisation of sophisticated technique of thermal imaging used to identify and mitigate this issue. Understanding Thermal Bridging: Thermal bridging occurs when a conductive material provides a pathway for heat to bypass the insulation, creating a direct route for heat to escape or enter a building. In commercial buildings, common thermal bridges include structural elements like steel or concrete connections, as well as poorly insulated junctions between walls a...
